Themeable admin, teacher & student panels — pick a panel design per role and switch on the brand-new hand-drawn Pencil theme alongside the refined Classic look — plus a dedicated Student Trash recycle bin for restoring or permanently removing deleted students.
A new Backend Theme picker in School Settings lets you choose the panel design used by each role independently — the Admin, Teacher and Student panels can each run a different theme. Selections are saved per panel and apply the next time that panel is loaded, so you can roll out a new look to one audience at a time.
Meet Pencil — a warm, hand-drawn sketchbook skin for the backend. Paper-toned surfaces, the Hanken Grotesk type, green & amber accents, wobbly asymmetric corners, offset "ink" shadows, a graph-paper backdrop and squiggle underlines give the whole panel a friendly, tactile feel. The original Classic theme remains the crisp, professional default.
Deleted students now land in a dedicated Student Trash screen instead of disappearing. Admins can review every soft-deleted student, restore a record back into active rolls in one click, or permanently delete it when it is truly no longer needed — making accidental deletions painless to recover.
Themes are delivered as lightweight skins layered on top of the shared panel shell, so the same screens simply restyle — no per-page rework. A theme resolver reads the active skin once per request and a panel falls back gracefully to Classic for any unknown setting, keeping the system safe to extend with future themes.
Uniqueness checks now ignore soft-deleted students, so admission numbers and other unique fields freed up by a deletion can be reused immediately — while a restore from the new trash still validates cleanly against active records.
